Body Art (Tattoo and Body Piercing)

Lawrence County Health Department is responsible for conducting inspections and issuing permits for tattoo and body piercing facilities, both permanent and temporary, to help reduce or prevent exposure to infectious diseases.  The Environmental Health team looks at the general safety and sanitation of the facility, instrument sterilization and disinfection methods, required training certificates (for example, bloodborne pathogen training), and record keeping, among other things.
